An excellent product that does everything right..well mostly. Also, to my pleasant surprise, the Garmin connect store has a lot of goodies (watch faces, additional apps e.g. for Strength training) which have made this watch go way above my expectations. The satellite lock is quick, the charging is quick, battery life is amazing. A 10 minute charge gives me a day! The most unique feature according to me is the 24hr heart rate monitoring. The non-fitness related basics cover everything you can expect from a decent watch I.e. an always-on screen (made for great Sunlight legibility), Alarm (vibration), stop watch, timer, calender, music control and the notifications work perfectly (that I use only for calls, best when you are away from your phone). The only slight flaw is in the sleep tracking which is a bit disappointing as even the ₹800 Mi Band does a great job while the Vivoactive HR is a bit inaccurate at times. But it's not something that I care too much about. I use it for running (indoor/outdoor), strength training (3rd party app), pool swimming (no open water support) & cycling. Overall, a great purchase that pairs perfectly for a multi-sport enthusiast. Also, for those new to Garmin, know that they have been in this business since 2003 when the first Forerunner was launched. You become a part of a massive community base which Garmin uses to share insights with you about your performance.

THE GOOD There's a wealth of features here, including all-day activity tracking, phone notifications, built-in optical heart-rate sensor, GPS, multiple sport profiles and an always-on display. It can be worn in the shower and while swimming.THE BAD It's bulky, there are occasional connection and syncing problems, and the mobile app is confusing.THE BOTTOM LINE The Vivoactive HR's versatile, multipurpose function and design make it one of the better smart GPS fitness watches on the market.Who should buy this? The Vivoactive HR is designed for active consumers. It tracks all-day activities very well, and the waterproof design, long battery life and multiple sport profiles make it a better value than the Fitbit Surge. While the watch is fully capable of tracking running, cycling and swimming, I wouldn't recommend it for dedicated runners and triathletes because it is missing some more advanced features they may find useful.Garmin's Forerunner 230/235 adds interval training, custom workouts, a recovery advisor and VO2Max estimates (a metric used by athletes for measuring the maximum amount of oxygen that can be used during workouts). Meanwhile, triathletes would want to check out the Forerunner 735XT, older Forerunner 920XT or Fenix 3. All of these have an auto multisport feature that lets you switch sports with a single button press, which is a useful feature when competing in a triathlon or duathlon). You don't get these on this Vivoactive. For the casual walker, runner, golfer, swimmer, biker or anyone else, though, the Vivoactive HR is a solid buy. More solid than Fitbit? In hardware, yes. In software, maybe not.

Its been 2 Months I ve been using it and start with Pro's1. Great Connectivity to GPS and very accurate calculations.2. I am using it for running, swimming and cycling and the results are accurate and gr83. Heart rate monitor is also fairly accurate.4. The battery with all the use lasts almost a week.Con's1. If you do multiple activites, then you need to sync with phone/PC before going to other activity else it will delete the previous activity. exp if you ran 5 miles and then went for cycling 50 miles, then sync with your phone, then it will delete the running activity. But considering its not a Triathelete watch, I knew this shortcoming.2. Sync with your phone takes pain, unless you have an iPhone or very high end phone.3. Other features like Social network notification , weather notification etc do not work that well unless you have iPhone or high end smart phone.Verdict : Don't compare it with Apple watch as this is a pure Athlete's watch and for fitness enthusiast and I am very satisfied with the results and features. it has become integral part of my Body.

Better blend of Fitness tracker and Smart watch. Being a very competitive fitness tracker what i like most about this is the battery life. It literally lasts for almost 7 days at a stretch. It's water proof, no sweat. Also it tracks flight of steps climbed and descended as well. Now turning to the smart watch part - the watch is capable of receiving notification from almost all the apps be it Whatsapp, SMS, gmail ....
